False Alarm at Toronto Facility

On Friday, January 15, 2016 at approximately 10 a.m. a fire alarm was triggered at GEH-C’s Toronto plant as a result of the building’s elevator approaching its weight limit capacity. Toronto Fire Services responded to the alarm and verified to GEH-C environmental health and safety staff who were onsite that the incident was a false alarm and that there was no fire. All procedures were executed according to GEH-C’s emergency response plan.
There was no health or safety risk posed to the public or employees.
